Artist Julia Shahin Collard creates illustrations geared toward children’s literature, as well as painting commissioned portraits of people and animals. She is easily amused by wordplay, and strives to include verbal humor in her work whenever possible.

  In between freelance work, Julia licenses her art and amuses herself by writing stories, drawing puns, and expanding on misunderstandings within the English language. She hopes to one day sell one of her picture books to a children’s publishing house.
